Why we use it, and our legal basis
To fulfil your order — taking payment, arranging delivery, handling returns and answering questions about it. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
To meet legal obligations — keeping records of sales and VAT for the periods required by law. Legal basis: legal obligation.
To run and improve the site — keeping it secure, fixing faults, and understanding how it is used. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in operating a functioning shop.
To send marketing emails — only where you have asked us to. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us.
Cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary: they keep your basket working, remember you are logged in, and secure the checkout. The site cannot function without these.
Others help us understand how the site is used, or support marketing. These are only set where you have agreed to them. You can change your mind at any time, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may stop parts of the shop working.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with organisations that help us run the business, and only with what they need:
Payment providers, to take and secure your payment. Delivery companies, including Royal Mail and couriers, to get your parcel to you. Our website host and technical suppliers, who maintain the systems the shop runs on. Our accountants and, where we are required to, HMRC or other authorities.
Sending data outside the UK
Some of our suppliers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, so your data keeps the same level of protection.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, as tax law requires. Account details are kept while your account is open. Marketing consents are kept until you withdraw them. Enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to deal with the matter.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to us using it, and ask us to transfer it to another provider. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email orders@lifeminerals.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
